While I know promoters hate to have to cancel, teams and fans hate to have to spend the time and money to travel to a race which is canceled at the last moment. When the weather is questionable, I'm a lot more likely to go to a track which has done a good job of canceling early in the past than one which waits until the last moment. I would think it would make promoters money in the long run, especially with the good will it engenders in us.
