There are literally dozens of ways to hide weight to make it look like the car, aluminum block or not, weighs the minimum without having "additional" bias necessary. Steel floor pans, stuffed kickrails/bumpers, loaded torque tubes, etc. Is it my understanding that all of these will be deemed illegal? It seems to me that the rule should state that all aluminum block cars will have weights attached in the motor campartment, whether they weigh 1425 or not.

Also by the way, it's also necessary to remove and weigh the additional ballast. I've seen everything from hollowed out weight bars to styrofoam painted to look like weights.

Min weight is 1,425 with driver,period and I don't care how you get there.Just make darn sure you cross the scales at 1,425+. We have alum blck cars that weighed in at 1,290+ without the driver and I've seen with my own eyes a steel block car weighing in at 1,285+123lbs driver= 1,408.
