Andrew continues to amaze me in his fight and determination. After undergoing surgery #3 last Monday and coming throught with flying colors, they were able to do surgery #4 on Friday to insert the Ommaya Reservoir into the brain. He was able to go home on Saturday and spend the weekend resting in his own bed. He also played outside much of the weekend and we enjoyed the time together in giving mom and dad some much needed rest. While he was in the hospital they did a CT scan to make sure the Ommaya Reservoir was in the proper place. The also checked his lungs to be sure that they were still clear. All checked out okay.
He is still having some minor swallowing issues that they are unsure of the cause. He will be having more testing on that later this week. They started the next round of chemo today with the first one going into the Ommaya Reservoir. They started the IV chemo round this afternoon and it is a slow release through the center line. He will be in the hospital for 72 hours during this procedure.
