SAMMY SWINDELL ENTERS BUDWEISER OVAL NATIONALS!
(OCTOBER 18, 2007, PERRIS, CA) Three-time World of Outlaws champion Sammy Swindell has been named to replace Indiana's Dickie Gaines in Larry Woodward's #2H for the 12th Annual Budweiser Oval Nationals, presented by Temecula valley Pipe & Supply, at Perris Auto Speedway. The race will take place on November 1st, 2nd and 3rd. The November 3rd 40-lap main event will pay $30,000.00 to the winner.
Swindell, who resides in Germantown, Tennessee, will be making his first wingless appearance at The PAS and will be taking on the best non-wing drivers in the nation in the three-day festival of dirt track action. Included among the competition will be Swindell's 18 year old son Kevin.
Swindell, who will turn 52 one week before the Oval Nationals, won the World of Outlaws championship in 1981, 1982 and 1997. He also has more than 250 World of Outlaws victories to his credit and has won the prestigious Chili Bowl Midget race four times. He scored his lone win in the Knoxville Nationals in 1983.
