"Southwest Championships broadcast schedule set for November 27 & 28"
Peoria, Ariz., Nov. 23---This weekend fans will be able to catch all the action of the 1st annual Sands Chevrolet Southwest Championships, at Canyon Speedway Park. The Friday and Saturday Night Nov. 27 and 28 events can be heard live on the tracks website at:
www.canyonspeedwaypark.com. Go to the web cast page from the front page, and then click on live stream for the event. Broadcasts each evening begin at 9:00 pm (Eastern Standard Time)/ 7:00 pm local-Phoenix time.
The event will honor the life of longtime chassis builder and car owner Rick Stewart who recently passed after a long battle with cancer. The event will be the final two midget races of the year and determine the 2009 National Midget Driver of the Year Championship. Currently Brad Kuhn holds a narrow lead over Bryan Clauson, after 194 events nationwide.
Also competing besides the Arizona Midget Racing Association will be non-winged 360 sprint cars, and modified midget/mini sprints. Over forty sprint car teams are expected to compete in the event. Bryan Gapinski will call the midget race action, with Rick Setser and Pete Steele handling the play-by-play for the non winged sprint cars and modified midgets/mini sprints.
