Crawley-TBJ-Hafertepe-Bacon Enter $86K NSS 11/13-14
Kennedale TX (11/7/09) by DarinShort.com. As the November 8th advance entry deadline and next weekend’s race dates approach, entries continue to stream in for the 3rd Annual $86,000 November Sprint Shootout (NSS) presented by City Vending at Cowtown Speedway on November 13th and 14th.
Well over 100 race division advance entries have been received, and once again fans can expect a NSS field over 200 cars total on race night. Five exciting race divisions are on the NSS weekend racing card.
Some of the early sprint entries include the 2008 Short Track Nationals champion, Tony Bruce Jr.; 2008 November Sprint Shootout champion, Tim Crawley; 2007 I-30/Cowtown Short Track Shootout champion, Sam Hafertepe Jr.; and 2009 TnT Champion, Brady Bacon.
Sprint teams are all gunning for the $7,000 to win 35-lap NSS Championship on Nov. 14th. Friday night's show includes sprint heats with passing points, which will line up the Twin-or Triple 25's, as all sprint teams will make an A-feature on that night. (If there are 46 or more sprints on Friday night, there will be Triple 25's, as was the case in 2008.)
Many of the sprint teams are on their way to Tucson for the Lucas Oil ASCS Series finale the following weekend, so another strong field of NSS teams is expected.
The event also features the ASCS2 Series Finale presented by Eagle Chassis (
www.EagleChassis.com ) that pays each of the two ASCS2 event winners $2,000. The always intense Cowtown Modifieds are racing for $2,000 to win and $1,500 awaits the winner of the Limited Modified championships.
The NSS event purse has risen from $85,000 to $86,000. $1,000 has been added to the Saturday night non-qualifier purse, and will be distributed as follows: $1,000 will be split between each of the first non-transfer sprint finishers to the A-feature from the B-features. In 2008 there were three sprint B-features at the NSS; which meant that the top six finishers advanced to the A-feature. If that is the case in 2009’s NSS, it would result in each 7th place B feature finishers will receive $434. If there are two B-features, that would result in the top 9 from each B joining the A-feature and 10th place in each B-feature finish will receive $600.
For the sprint teams, early entry (by Nov. 8), guarantees reserved pit parking space to the event. There is no late penalty (or increased entry fee) by entering after Nov. 8.
For the modified, limited modifieds and both ASCS2 divisions, a pre-entry discount and reserved pit spaces are available if entered by Nov. 8. Entries received after Nov. 8 will be at the standard entry fee to the event, and their pit parking spaces will be assigned by the race track management on the day of the race for those teams. Phone in parking requests are not accepted without pre-entering.
And race fans can take advantage of our traditional 2-day passes, if purchased by Nov. 12th (the day before the NSS), are just $35; which is $10 off of race night pricing. A limited supply of reserved-seat 2-day passes is also available for $40.

On November 14th Palm Harbor Homes (
