Harry, the talk about golf, fishing, hunting, etc. was simply to lighten the mood. This is a chat sight, not an official AMSA meeting.....it doesn't have to be so God aweful serious all the time.

As for the discussion.....it was an honest attempt to try to make the AMSA better and more affordable. It was not intended in any manner to criticize Jerry.

Yes, Jerry owns the AMSA....we all realize that and we all understand that ultimately we will race by his rules. BUT, without all the drivers and car owners the AMSA would cease to exist. We all have plenty of money tied up in this and we have a voice as well.

I spent the past 5 years watching the sport of quarter midget racing fall apart because there ended up being two types of drivers.....those with parents that had money, and those that didn't. When TJ was running Senior Honda at Mini-Indy in 2007 there were 25 cars in that class.....there are less than 10 this year. Blue-printed motors, carbon fiber body parts, etc. etc. etc. have run the average income family right out of racing.

We enjoy running with the AMSA....but like anything else in life things change, and you have to be prepared to adjust to those changes. Running with the AMSA is a lot of fun but there is always room for improvement. The drivers and guys that write the checks should be able to make recommendations without people getting defensive about it.

I honestly hope you believe me when I say that nothing we were discussing was meant as a slight towards Jerry or anyone else involved with the AMSA.....we are just looking for ways to make the racing fair and affordable.

FYI - regarding your original post....I have not had a conversation with Jerry. Hopefully when the season is over we can all sit down and have a reasonable, constructive conversation. I look forward to it.

Thanks!
