In response to what the National Midget Driver of the Year championship has paid in the previous years. For the 2007 season the cash point fund was a little over $12,000 cash with Jerry Coons winning $2,000 cash. The top ten drivers and car owners all recieved point fund checks. Last year the point fund was around $10,000 cash with Tracy Hines also winning $2,000 cash for the title, again the top ten drivers and owners all recieved point checks, along with the top five recieving trophies. This combined with NMDOTY race Nights in 2008 we paid out over $13,000. This year the point fund will be much less due to the fact that our 2008 title sponsors Chevrolet & Ford were unable to continue their support due to the sagging ecomony of the auto industry.
