Jerry,

Belleville, IL has a solid group of fans for it's weekly show. I think you discovered
the rabid group of die hard sprint and midget fans that exists in the St Louis metropolitan
area. They show up regularly at Farmington, Mo for winged shows and Jacksonville
for non wing races. Because they live in an area dominated by weekly "taxi cab" shows
they are HUNGRY for open wheel (excludes mudifieds) racing. You bring a bunch of
midgets to a neat little joint like Belle-Claire Speedway and the "open wheel underground"
will pack the joint.

Macon, IL is a pretty racy little track for midgets also. Don't forget the
three days of racing at Tri City Speedway's Gold Crown Midget Nationals.
Hint: Some of the fiercest racing is during the two nights of qualifying races.

Now that you have seen Belle-Claire, can you imagine wing sprints running there? Shane
Wade described the experience of driving there as "Fighter jets in a gymnasium".
