That's right Bill - Brian and Brad Marvel (Kent may have been in the mix as well) were locked in battle for the title (this again shows how big this was) Brian gave up the seat in Steve Stapp's Silver Crown car and Stewart was just tremendous (remember he was the 1994 midget champ - but it wasn't like he was a household name). I happened to be sitting by Pancho Carter and he was amazed by Tony's run forward as well - these points proved to be very critical because of the narrow margin Tony won the Silver Crown title (and hence, the Triple Crown) by after the remarkable and stunning turn of events that happened at the finale at Sacramento. Funny story - I flew to Sacramento with Dick Jordan - he had invented this board game which we played - I can't adequately describe it but the winner of the game was "Tony Stewart". I stuck that piece of paper in my pocket and afterwards I found it - so I placed it in the race program where it rests to this day.
