Now if we can just get Indy Cars back at PIR! And the "real" Copper Classic.

David, we seem to think alike or at least have the same wishes. I would definitely like the Indy cars back at PIR and the "real" Copper Classic back at PIR, living less than a half hour from PIR that would be great. My early racing experiences were always on pavement, as much as I have adapted to dirt track racing in Az. I am really a pavement girl.

One of the things that first excited me about Superdukes post was they were talking about also building a pavement track; then I thought about Volusia when they built the dirt track next to the pavement track. It didn't work out so well when they tried to run dirt modifieds on the same nights the supers were running on the pavement track. The pvement track became very slippery covered with a coating of dust from the dirt track, it caused numerous accidents for the supers.

Then of course I was hoping whoever built a new track in Arizona would come west to Buckeye, I talked to the town officials before I came east and have been contacted by them once since I have been back east. There was no real news to report from that phone call so I never mentioned it on here until now. Buckeye all ready has land approved for a racetrack what they don't have are hotels. There are three new hotels in the building stages along I10, 1 in Buckeye, 2 in Goodyear. So if they were to ever build a racetrack in Buckeye by the time it was built between Avondale, Goodyear and Buckeye having a place to stay won't be an issue.

Something else I heard rumors of before leaving Az. for the summer, was rumors of one of the Ellis's taking over Casa Grande an getting that track reopenned. To the best of my knowledge this hasn't happended.
