Well, thanks again, Mother Nature, you win again, but it wasn't a total loss, thanks to the efforts of Gary LEE, and IMS, we all got to see the 1939/40 Indy 500 winning car, driven by Shelbyville native Wilbur Shaw, my wife and I got to have a nice conversation with Bill Shaw, take some photos, and add to our autograph collection. Race track, was gonna be real racy, smooth, tacky, as good or better than I'd ever seen, hot laps went well, qualifications went well, plus, we all got a chance to try our hand at negotiating the track on our 4 wheelers, trying to keep Mother Nature from yet another Victory, but all for naught, as she won again. Nice turn out of cars, and next week should see a few more at North Vernon. Thanks to all for attending, thanks to the IMS Museum for letting their real race car out, for some fresh air, and Donald Davidson, and Bill Shaw for their time, to add to the evening. Even had a vintage tractor pull going on, to add yet another type of action, as well as some delicious food, and a flea market too, now if we had just got to race. Oh well, we probably will be looking at some hot dry weather after this next week gets done. Thanks again Mark and Jenn, and family, and the yellow shirt guys, the track prep folks, we'll be back July 1st, during the fair. See ya at Shelbyville, maybe Gary Lee can find the "goat cart" that Wilbur Shaw started his racing career in, by then. Bob
