I don't know if it's just this track's configuration, the prep that's done on it or a combination of the two, but VCS is becoming consistently one of the raciest joints in the area. The first two heats just let you know that it was gonna be one of those nights. Both ended with you knowing which four cars had transferred, just not what the finishing order was. They were that close. In the B-Main, the fierce battle for the last transfer spot was intense and lasted nearly the entire race. And then the feature was full of twists and turns. Windom looked to be checking out from the drop of the green, but was reeled in and overtaken by Stanbrough, who in turn was caught and passed by a very fast Bryan Clauson. Just when it looked like BC was in the cat bird's seat, the two-time driver of the year fought back and seized back the top spot for good. It was much like a great prize fight. One of those where the seasoned champ gets knocked on his ass by the young challenger, yet gets up off the canvas to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. He's starting to look like the Jon Stanbrough we've all been accustomed to and whether you root for him or not, your ticket's worth a little more with that guy in the field. And everybody's season will be a little bit better with the emergence of VCS, under it's new management.

What a nice appetizer before the main course, Indiana Midget Week.
