The series has not opened up to aluminum blocks. There was however intense discussion over the possibility of doing so because of the low car counts and growing concerns of the promoters. I for one hope that it stays a steel block’s only series but if Sam doesn’t see an increase in the number of committed followers who could blame him and before any-one flips out I want to say it again, “THERE HAS BEEN NO RULE CHANGE AT THIS TIME”. However I would like put my two cents in. I would rather run a combine engine rule series with an overall weight rule and still have an affordable series to compete in instead of just letting the series die out. I sold all my modified stuff so that I could start piecing equipment together to run this series next year so I want to make it understood that I want it to stay “as-is” but I would understand if Sam thought the series needed a rule change to keep it going. The car count has increased this weekend and we had a great show at Kankakee with 12 cars signing in and we had 16 at Kamp making it our highest car count thus far and man what a show it was. Both nights came down to the wire. Our guys have put on outstanding races and I have to give a throw out to J.C Bland and Ray Kenens on their round 3 and 4 wins. There have been 4 different winners in as many races for the S.C.O.R.A’s young 2009 season and I for one am looking forward to our next stop at Morgantown Kentucky’s, Soggy Bottom Raceway this Saturday night June 6. Sam has put up $200.00 guaranteed tow money for any and all steel block sprint car racers that want to head south with us this weekend to help offset the fuel cost that has plagued us all at the pump. I hope that all of you can make the trip.
