Since it was my first time. I thought Id give some views as I seen it.
The track, Wow, huge long straights and tight corners that you can't believe the cars make it thru. Expecially on starts and restarts. I also found it wild how the cars were bent out of shape all the way down the straights. So much so that some cars were bobbing left while the one inside them bobbed right and they slapped wheels in the straights.
It was cool standing in the infield durring hot laps in turn one and seeing that left front still in the air all the way around the corner. The tire not spinning and reading HOOSIER plain as day all the way around the corner..
I like tracks that there is speed and advancement possible for those willing to go get it. LEVI just plainly drove ten feet higher than everyone else in his heat and was above the cushion most the the feature. VERY FEW OTHERS DID THAT. Windom did in the feature and was all over Coons at the end. Coons also make work of the low line to advance often passing one or two cars a straight by getting off better.
ITs clear to me why this track was and is a huge part of giving people TOUGH labels.
.
The Bad, None really. Id remove that tower and put it outside the track as it blocks the view. The old fairgroudn grandstand was loud (Which was kinda cool) But sits really too low to see the entire track from. Turn four was much better but Id still suggest some Binaculars.
Im really glad they prepped the track between qualifying and heats. The dust was getting annoying but wasn't a issue the entire racing program. Thanks THAT Crew.
I see PUSHTRUCK several times but he was always on a radio or phone so I never bothered him. Got to see and help a bit the Hoffman Crew, Devin, Don and Kyle and many others. Dickie Gaines was enjoying as a spectator with some family.
Levi has a huge fanbase there, Thats for sure!
