Chuck, I think the best seat in the house is in my pushtruck. Big soft comfy seat, nice heater if it gets cold, A/C if it gets hot. Dust never gets in my eyes. Close to the racing action... sometimes they throw mud and rocks at me though... don't care much for that. If I don't like my view, I move to a new location. Cooler full of ice water and fruit in the back. I get to chat with the drivers a lot. I don't have to pay for my pitpass. If we get rain, I don't get wet. I don't have to worry about being late because they won't start the show without me. I don't know Chuck, if you don't count the car wash bill after the races, I don't think you can beat it. Best seat in the house.

Second best advice: The grandstands are at the start finish line, but it is covered with a tin roof and sometimes get loud under there. The bleachers are coming out of turn four and half way down the frontstretch. They are taller than the grandstands and have a great view of the entire track. You can work on your tan there as well. There are relatively new, very large restrooms behind the grandstand. The infield gives you plenty of room to stretch out and relax with the family and allows you to visit with the drivers and watch the crews wrench on the cars since they have gone back to pitting along the inside of the front stretch. It's cheaper than a pit pass and almost as good. They have portapotties in the infield or you can cross under the track through the tunnel and go to the big ones. Only problem is constantly turning in a circle to watch the races... or getting hit in the head with a frisbee or football. It's a big track, so you can walk from turn to turn and watch from different angles. It is pretty cool to watch the races along the infield fence in the corners. Up close view at ground level of the racing.

There are a few different concession stands under the grandstand and one in the infield. There is a tunnel that goes under the track to the infield. (We won't talk about the broken water main that kept it full of water last year... that was bad news... but that has been fixed.) There are any number of resturants all along the highway in both directions from the track. Take your pick. We have even ordered pizza across the street from the track and had it delivered.

It is a big wide racetrack in the straightaways and in the corners. One thing is for sure. A good night of racing at the Terre Haute Action Track and your first visit won't be your last. Have fun... don't let some of the IOW regulars lead you astray. Most of them are pretty cool, but there are a few that are
