I just want to let everyone know that I greatly appreciate your well wishes and prayers. As Logan mentioned earlier my dad is in much better spirits today although still very tired.
About 4:00pm yesterday he was at home alone doing odd and end chores. All of a sudden he became very dizzy, broke out into a sweat and became very nauseous. My step-mother came home about an hour later at which point my dad informed her that he did not feel well. She called me a little bit later and I rushed out to their house. We evaluated the situation and determined to call an ambulance as my dad could not maintain his balance and had very fuzzy/double vision.
He was taken to the emergency room where they performed a cat scan and EKG but were not able to determine what was going wrong. They admitted him into the ICU unit late into the evening and today they performed a MRI, MRA, and ultrasound. I left the hospital earlier this evening with still no word from the doctor as to what they think is wrong.
When I left he was resting as comfortably as he could be and was complaining about the mattress being extremely uncomfortable. He is still having vision issues and cannot stand or walk on his own yet without losing his balance. His appetite and general mood were greatly improved though and I'm pretty confident that we are past the worst part now. We just need to find what caused this though.
If his eyesight and balance improve they talked of sending him home tomorrow but I would look for it being the weekend before he is released.
Once again, thank you for your prayers and thoughts and I will let you know more when I can.
J.L., he is at Columbus Regional ICU unit room 201. They talked of moving him to a normal room tomorrow though.
Thanks,
Jason and the entire Knoke family.
