Re: Daugherty Speedway

I raced there when it was paved and raced there when it was dirt, never got excited about going to this place. Way out in the boonies, just farm land and not many people. No big deal that this track...

Re: LPS MAVERICK WINGED SPRINTS & Bombers 10/6

The people that left early never left because of a bad show. They left because of the cold. Some people just never dressed for the cold as all of the hot weather we have had lately who would have...

Re: LPS MAVERICK WINGED SPRINTS & Bombers 10/6

Back in the day you drew a number for your heats and if you drew a big number you had to race hard to make the feature. Then along came USAC with qualifying with nothing but a stopwatch for getting...

Re: Paragon [ Saturday results]

I was there and Trammell dove a perfect race. Robert Ballou had fast time when he qualified, which was a track record. I think we will be hearing more about Trammell in the future.

Re: Turbine Sprint Car

The engines in sprint cars on dirt also depend on slowing down with the compression when going into the corners. With all of my racing experience I've found that engines with lots of power are not as...

Re: RACING Sunday Sept 3rd

Most tracks take too much time between races. So, they have 8 classes and the racing can be done quickly if they only have heats and features. With 8 classes maybe one heat and feature for each...

Back in the day in my area there was Bloomington and Paragon, both had good car counts and lots of people came to watch. Then along came Lincoln Park and Paragons trouble started with low car counts...

Re: ASCS: ASCS Warrior At Monett Canceled Due To No Ambulanc

Back in the day there was no such thing as counties or towns having an ambulance service. The tracks bought their own ambulance and hired a driver with some medical experience.

Re: 31 at Bloomington

The new Paragon owners know nothing about racing. They get the word out on facebook. I think maybe the new owners never saw a race.

Re: Four heat races, really!!

The Sprints are just too safe to race, the real reason for so many racers. Back in the day more than enough race cars was almost unheard of. As I remember if 15 racers showed up it was one good show...

Re: LPS racing Sunday 4/2 - IOW Race Fest moved to 4/8

With Lincoln Park racing Sunday they should have an overflow of Sprints as no one else is racing. Sundays forecast is 60 degrees and sunny.

Re: THAT-Surprised no one has seen this

Back in the day USAC ran only 1/2-mile tracks, so the engines they ran were 1/2-mile engines built to run 1/2-mile tracks. The engines now are 1/4- and 3/8-mile engines that won't last on a 1/2. It...
