Re: That

I travelled 2 hours 45 minutes to a track that was obvious was unworkably wet. That should have been obvious to the people making the up or down call earlier in the day. I made the trip specifically...

Thank you both. I really liked Westfall, kind of the everyman driver. I was hopeful he might snatch a win this year.
I recall the lengthy discussion on the Hoffman 69 now. Wherever the car was...

USAC Teams

Is Matt Westfall not following the USAC sprint tour this year? Same question for the Hoffman 69, I don’t recall seeing any announcements about that ride. Both are absent at Florida openers.

Re: Gateway Dirt Nationals- huge miss for open wheel

They were there, they didn’t enhance the late model program, which is the focus, and now they are gone. They are not coming back to Gateway. Du Quoin has a powri show running Dec. 14 and in a 3000...

Re: Bacon going wing racing next year

USAC will continue to be a viable series and will continue to attract drivers. I would suspect that as some, like Bacon, try the wings (again), others who haven’t found winged success will move back....

Re: Help me if you can

Coastal 181 (google it) has about as thorough a racing library as can be found, might give that a look.

Re: Fan interaction with drivers & teams….. Thoughts on thi

The pits during the event is a workplace and should be treated as such, fans shouldn’t be allowed. After races open the pits. The NASCARs and Indy Cars of the world give tours prior to the event,...

Re: Is Non Wing Racing Dying?

I’d be worried except…there has been threats to non wing every year forever it seems. The OP here seems like a lot of national media, trying to create news through rumor and innuendo. Traditional...

Re: Silver Crown dirt car fantasy track

Terre Haute…always seems to rain out and not get rescheduled. Truly though, any dirt half mile big enough to handle them. We need more venues to keep the series viable.

Re: What would it take for USAC to be as big as the WOO?

Money is the key, both at the top of the purse structure but also through the field. Traditional sprint cars thrive on numbers, just look at the crowds that fill tracks for IWS. Fans like heats that...

Re: 31 at Bloomington

Part of the draw of Sprint Week is the large car counts and B main and C mains. 31 is a good number for a normal special show but Sprint Week is the event of the summer and as such the expectation is...

Re: TriState

If you’ve never been there and you’re bellyaching on here you are uneducated. Tri-State is usually more than well attended. Last night was unusual in two aspects, one, the track dusted up and got...

Absolutely, but this is Rose’s 1st rodeo as a promoter, as far as I know. He needs more rope than one event.

As long as the race here, I’m relatively happy, my complaint is modified feature first. But, again, I’ll happily be later than I need to be at work if it keeps THAT open

For those hoping for a large crowd, being here 10 minutes prior to engine heat…I’m not optimistic. There will have to be a hell of an increased influx of people for this one to make money. 75 in the...

Re: Chili Bowl News

To what end? We play the national anthem, that should suffice. Every time one attends an event it doesn’t need to be a nationalistic show piece. And before the “you ain’t American crowd” jumps down...

Re: ELDORA SPEEDWAY - 2023 - $1 MILLION To Win Wing Sprints.

The money for the racers is a great thing. I, like Charles am a bit concerned. Not with one race but with the set up of what is to occur. FLO seems to be the tail wagging the dog here. How will this...

Re: New Xtreme Midget Race Director

Many here predicted USAC’s demise as a result of WoO jumping into the non-wing fray. Once again USAC perseveres.
