UAW Kenyon Midgets return to the Speedrome Saturday
The UAW American Made Mel Kenyon Midget Series will return to the Indianapolis Speedrome this Saturday night. Dameron Taylor leads the driver’s championship as the competitors begin the run to the championship in the second half of the season.
Taylor has visited victory lane four times in the 2017 UAW American Made Mel Kenyon Midget Series season. A perfect finishing record to date has allowed Taylor to pile up points at each event. In the point battle behind Taylor Ryan Huggler, Clayton Gaines and Trey Osborne are separated by only 60 points. Both Gaines and Osborne have entered the win column so far this season. Gains two win came on the dirt at US 24 and at Limaland while Osborne won the rain shorted Don and Mel Kenyon Classic at Anderson. UAW Midget racing at the Indianapolis Speedrome is always close and unpredictable. The series’ last visit on June 24 saw Pay Less Little 500 presented by UAW winner Kyle Hamilton nip Taylor by a wheel over following multiple last lap lead changes. The Indianapolis Speedrome spectator gates will open at 4, with qualifications at 6:15 and racing at 7:00. Joining the UAW American Made Mel Kenyon Midgets on Saturday night’s car will be Late Models, Factory FWD cars, Adult Fascarts and the Thundercars. |
