Front width question on Non-wing
So I'm still learning, but I know most non-wing cars run a 53-inch front axel, at least that's what I'm told. So last night I can't sleep and I'm on JackSlash watching a race from last year at Bloomington. Anyway, Robert Ballou is zooming around in his heat and from the angles, they were shooting his front end looked a good bit wider than any other car. Is it a wider axel or his he doing something with wheel spacing. I mean it was wide like a dune buggy... Just curious and wanting a post on first-page that's not ASCS. :9:

53" axles are the most common with 8" wheels but some run 9" and even 10" wheels.

Re: Front width question on Non-wing
What wideopen24 said is true and they're also probably using 3" offset front wheels.

Re: Front width question on Non-wing
I have seen Robert's car up close, I think he is running 10" wide wheels and 3" or less offset. Yes it is wide and when you see it up close it is really noticeable, it seems to work for him.

Re: Front width question on Non-wing
Thanks, that explains a lot. I would think wider is more stable too.
