Tyler Nelson Kokomo Setup
Tyler Nelson Ready to Take on Kokomo Double-Race Weekend
By Jessica Jenkins It’s time to head back outdoors this weekend with the USAC midgets at Kokomo Speedway. Tyler Nelson will be making just his second start on the 1/4 mile dirt oval in Indiana. Taking part in his first Kokomo Grand Prix, the 20 year old will look to improve on his 20th place finish in last season's appearance at the track during Indiana Midget Week. With $3,000 on the line to win each night's 30 lap feature, gates open at 3pm Friday followed by qualifying at 6:30pm and heat races at 7:30pm. Saturday will be similar, with the small change of qualifying starting at 6pm and racing at 7pm. Tickets are $20 with kids 10 & under free with a paying adult; pit passes are $35. If you aren't able to go, Speed Shift TV is showing the races live via Pay-Per-View at SpeedshiftTV.com. The format for each night consists of a two lap qualifying run for each entry to determine the heat race lineups. Four 10-lap heat races will follow and the top 4 finishers will transfer straight to the Feature. Everyone else will go into the Semi with the chance to finish top 6 in order to make it into the Feature's 22 car field. Updates on Nelson and his #88 midget will be posted on his Facebook fan page, @TylerNelsonRacing and Twitter @TylerNelson88. So be sure to cheer on the young driver from Kansas City and stop by his social media accounts to check up on him. |
