Mel Kenyon Midget Series point battle moves to the Speedrome
Dameron Taylor and Kyle O’Gara will resume their battle for the Mel Kenyon Midget Series Championship Saturday night at the Lincoln Tech Indianapolis Speedrome. The two drivers finished separated by just 0.004 in last weeks race and history says this week’s race at the Speedrome will be another “knife fight.”
To date, O’Gara is undefeated in 2015 at Indianapolis Speedrome while Taylor is scoring points using consistent strong finishes on every track. Coming into Saturday night’s race Taylor has a 70 point lead over O’Gara. Based on USSA’s point structure this doesn’t allow Taylor much cushion as the right set of circumstances can see that margin evaporate in one race. The contest to lock down third place in the Mel Kenyon Midget Series Championship is just as intense as the one Taylor and O’Gara are conducting. Ashlea Albertson currently holds a six point advantage over Logan Huggler. The two drivers have been swapping the 3rd and 4th spots back and forth for several weeks, with neither one seizing a clear advantage. The Mel Kenyon Midget Series moves to the Lincoln Tech Indianapolis Speedrome on Saturday August 8. The spectator gates open at 4:30 with racing featuring the Mel Kenyon Midget Series 50-lap feature as well as the Kenny’s 100 for Stocks and the Roadrunners and Hornets. The racing is scheduled to start at 7:00 PM |
