3 WISCONSIN SPRINTS PIVOTAL FOR AMSOIL TITLE HOPEFULS

The Badger State of Wisconsin welcomes the AMSOIL USAC National Sprint cars this week for a trio of events expected to be pivotal in the battle for the 2015 championship.

It begins Friday night at AMSOIL Speedway in Superior and continues Saturday at Deer Creek Speedway in New Richmond before visiting Angell Park in Sun Prairie on Sunday night.

Robert Ballou remains atop the standings with a 40-point margin over Chase Stockon, but Dave Darland is just 82 back of the leader in third place.

Ballou leads with seven feature wins this season, while Stockon has a single win and Darland has a pair. Darland continues to seek his 100th USAC National triumph which would put him in select company. Only A.J. Foyt, Rich Vogler and Mel Kenyon have previously reached the century mark in USAC’s 60-year history.

Jon Stanbrough, currently fifth in the series points, swept the features at Deer Creek and Angell Park last year while the 2014 Superior appearance was weathered out.

I am so excited for this swing. Wondering it its possible to get my hands on one of the posters shown above in this post? Both Superior and Cedar Lake should turn out some great and REALLY fast racing. Both places are banked and fast! The winged car track record at Cedar Lake is a blistering 10.225 seconds. Excited to get together with racegal and taking her to a new track for the first time! (Cedar Lake). If there is a full field of cars every night, this is going to be an excellent swing. Did I mention that I cannot wait???

Hope to make it to Sun Prairie, which is a 50 minute drive for me. Wish T-Mez was going to be there.

Headed to the Prairie on Sunday with a van load of dudes, leaving the women home. Hope for more cars than last year, fingers crossed. I could make a shorter drive to Knoxville for 60 plus cars but I'd rather see 18 without wings!
