Basically the same rules BADGER went to. It makes sense (or as much sense as can be made being racers) We had a wore out Fontana in our midget that needed about $3,500.00 worth of work to be back together, which would have still been a wore out Fontana. For a fraction of that cost with a little back yard engineering we have a Chevy Ecotec in our midget that is competitive with the Division II cars. We're not going to go to POWRi and compete with it. It sure is fun running with the BAM series, especially when we can double dip with the sprint car like we are Saturday :8: |
Evening folks! Sorry I'm late to this party. My name is Dave Fetsch, and I am the Director of Compitition for the Budget American Midget Series better known as BAM.
We are a St.Louis Missouri area based midget with "BUDGET" in mind. Many call this style of midget racing Class II, Sportsman, or Restricted. Regardless of what you choose to call us we aim to be an affordable alternative to the high cost of USAC and PowrI style of racing. Our rules are simple! Any purpose built midget or upright lightning sprint utilizing bone stock 2.4 and 1000cc long block engines. Any exhaust, injection, and ignition you choose to use. We also have no tire or weight rules so that if you choose to race with another like minded series you do not have the need to buy new tires to compete, or alter your current set-up to match rules. We are in our infancy as a series, and are working extremely hard to put things together for a bigger brighter future for our drivers, crews, and more importantly the fans who come to watch. We have drivers spanning across five states, and drawing a lot of attention, and tracks like Route 45 Speedway here in Flora Illinois helping us show some pretty amazing races to the fans. If you get a chance check out our Facebook page under Budget American Midget Series or our website www.bammidgets.com BETTER YET!!!! Come to Flora this weekend!! Four classes of open wheel dirt cars is going to make for a great night! |
What's the track itself like at Route 45?
