Idiot or genius?
With all the talk of too hooked up race cars , too many owners leaving, poor racing, poor attendance , low car counts etc. Wouldn't a 305 nonwing narrow tire (RR) class of sprint cars answer a lot of problems?
1 Go ahead and spend 25,000 on a 305 it wouldn't do a bit of good. 2 More car owners could afford to play. 3. The racing would be as close to the old days as described to me by people lucky enough to have been there. |
Re: Idiot or genius?
I think this idea would improve racing. More cars. When tires were narrower, seems the tracks more racable, especially some of the really small quarter mile tracks that the surface blows off of continually.

Re: Idiot or genius?
It won`t save anything. It costs as much to run a bomber as it does a sprint car. Your tow bill , maintenance , pit pass and all the related expenses are the same irregardless of what type of vehicle you prefer. Red Hill tried a spec. class with Jasper engines some time ago. The 10-12 thousand engine buy in was enough to dissuade interest in a one track only class.
