Engine sealer????
 

Do you guys know exactly what the brand and type of sealer that the builders are using on the engines? It appears to be a silicone based product but looks like it flows out very well. Kind of a milky yellowed color.:6:

I assume you are talking about splitting cases on cycle motor? We use kawasaki part # 92104-1064 and they also recommend 92104-2068 but we don't use that one. You can do a google search to find it. Permatex also makes a suitable product that we have been using I will try to look the number up when I get home. I would also suggest that you be setting down when looking this stuff up and get a manual off the internet while you are at it. A little bit of this stuff goes a long way and you don't want the excess floating around in your oil pan, there are places to use it and places not to use it on also, that is why they make manuals.:)

I have never used them but I would bet Hondabond, Yamabond or Three bond would also work, the thing to remember is don't over-do it once you get done there is only a 1/10 of a thousands of an inch of sealer doing the job.

If you are looking for a yellow colored product sounds like Ply-Bond used to hold gaskets on to one surface only.

You assumed incorrectly.......410 engines. I know all about the 600 micro engines we built them for years.

Hylomar Blue is your friend....

Defiantly not Hylomar Blue. This stuff has got to be silicone based but appears to flow rather than lay like typical silicone caulk.

Pretty much what I have seen is the only gaskets used in 410 engines are the head gaskets they basically glue everything else with silicone.

Like that watchmaker to blacksmith pretty funny!

It would seem that some are exactly that "blacksmiths" at best. My degree of anally obsessive attention to precision and detail certainly carries over from the 600 micro engines at 17,000 rpm you dont make mistakes and say "F" it close enough!!! :8::8:

Midget motors don't use anything on the head gaskets. Head gasket sealant, shallac and copper coat went out with copper head gaskets and the Flat Head Ford. Most new head gaskets don't require anything but two flat surfaces ,the gasket and maybe O rings in hard to seal high cylinder pressure applications.

Some guys prefer valve cover gaskets and seal them to the valve cover with ply bond to hold them in place, that stuff looks like baby poop.

Little trick that helped me make sealing the injection look better and seal better. Is using a shop vac during install to pull the silicone into cracks.
