Re: Observations during my return to the sport
some of this is true, but in my opinion the current generation of u s a c drivers are as good as, or better than any of the previous great generations thereof, unfortunately there is a lack of great rides for great drivers. there are also a lot of excellent local teams and drivers out there, which is a good thing, but many of those drivers are elligible for good rides or needed sponcorship to bring their own program up to snuff. as far as u s a c drivers not being familiar with various Indiana tracks, I'd say they're all familiar with all of the Indiana tracks, and if not its certainly their own fault for not being so. I have two complaints directed at usac racing and Indiana dirt track racing in general, 1st issue is a lack of good rides for great drivers; 2nd we need more midget racing , and I'm happy to say there are some promising outlooks in that direction, so please get out there and support it. as far as napcar goes, it is still watching usac for fresh talent, but not so much anymore, since there are no longer asphalt sprintcars in usac/ so its all about who is winning usac champ car races on pavement, and those races are far and few between and are not my cup of tea.
