ISW Performances

Through the first two nights of Sprint Week 29 different drivers have qualified for at least one feature with 20 having qualified for both. Only 19 actually ran both as Daron Clayton qualified last night but scratched due to engine woes. Only five drivers have been in the top ten both nights - Cottle, Darland, Bacon, Schuerenberg, and Hagen with Cottle and Darland in the top five both nights. Notable so far is the horrible luck of Jon Stanbrough with finishes of 20th & 21st. Also, the multi-car teams (Stewart, Kahne, and Truckers) have but one top five finish among them, that being a 2nd by Levi Jones opening night. Cottle's 3.5 average finish is best thus far followed by Darland with a 5.0.

I think that once you get to Gas City ---

The Premier Teams will go to the top...

Lawrenceburg - new track -- These teams lacked track time. Track needs changes to allow more passing (pole sitter won both nights) (isn't there an inversion up front? , so, it is not like the fastest car won each night).

If I remember - the track was designed by a big named track designer , but, his experience was predominently paved tracks -- Somehow he missed something in this design - hope that with time it can be rectified.

Gas City is a proven commodity -- the results will be the big names up front!

Re: ISW Performances

After three nights Shane Cottle leads the way with three top five finishes. Dave Darland and Daren Hagen are the only others to have been in the top ten all three nights. Jeff Bland Jr., Damion Gardiner, Cottle, Darland, Brady Bacon, and Jon Stanbrough are the only six drivers to have qualified through their heat each night thus far. 19 drivers have qualified for all three features with two others qualifying for two and twelve drivers making one ISW feature thus far. 33 different drivers in all. Best average finish among drivers making all races is of course Cottle with a 4.0 followed by Darland at 5.4 and Hagen with a 6.3

Re: ISW Performances

Through Kokomo there have been 15 drivers that have qualified for all 4 features thus far. The number next to their name is their average finish and the (W) indicates a feature win. Darland (W) 4.50, Hagen 6.0, Jones 6.25, Cottle 7.25, Whitt (W) 7.50, Tracy Hines 7.50, Coons Jr. 7.50, Bacon 8.75, Weir 11.25, Bland Jr. (W) 12.0, Scherenberg 12.0, Windom 12.25, Gardiner 13.25, and Stanbrough 14.75. Five drivers - Hockett, Pace, Ballou, Boat, and Short - have started three ISW features. Three drivers have started two features and 16 others have started one. Only Darland & Hagen have been in the top ten of all four ISW features. Four drivers - Gardiner, Cottle, Darland, & Stanbrough - have qualified through their heat for every feature.

Is it just me or did anyone else not think that Darland would be the one on top so far? The guy is good of course but I just didn't think the Benic car would be going this good.

BTW, provisional starters do not earn Indiana Sprintweek points this year...

Dwight: To be fair to the drivers that have actually earned a starting position, shouldn't you note that some of these drivers took a provisional?
