BR Motorsports starter system?

Does anyone have any experience with the BR Motorsports sprint car starter system?
Is it worth the expense?
How does it work?

I have seen them online i know it would be a great tool for us to have sense we do our own motors, looks like a great idea but I feel kinda cashy. would love to have one. My neighbors probably would to instead of us pushing the car down the street.:3:

Yep, ran it this year, works great. A little heavy including the battery, mounted it under the seat.

If you are looking for something to start the car at home, this guy has a pretty good idea.

One of the guys we race against has something similar on his car. I don't know how many people he has startled the crap out of by hitting the button & lurching forward when there was no push truck behind him. You just don't expect to see a Sprint Car move on it's own. The danger I see with these is that the driver has no peripheral view of what's coming up along side of him to reach a car ahead of him in the push off lane. We use a lot of ATVs to push & there have been some close calls.

I would love to have something to be able to start my car to tune or get heat, but I would not mount the battery on the car or use it in the push off lane.

As far as pushing off down our street here at home, if I didn't, I'd never get to speak to my neighbors! Every kid on the block drags Mom or Dad over to see the "Dune Buggy".

I have it in a non wing spec class, so the weight doesn't matter. A red top optima battery under the seat to use the starter works awesome, plus I run msd distributor setup off it and lighted gauges. I just use it for starting the car at the trailer, shop and tuning. Seems easier just to get pushed off onto the track, but comes in handy if ya spin out and don't sit there looking like an idiot. When I ordered it up from BR Motorsports, they say its for classes out there for tracks that require it and don't have push trucks. Bert transmissions also makes a setup that looked pretty cool, but was in the $3k range. Looks kinda like an in-out box.

Built one myself using off the shelf / junkyard parts. Works great I should have built it 20yr. ago!!! Starts my 360 motor with no problems we are going to try it on my friends 410 in the spring. Had about 50 bucks in it!!!

The one in the fourth post, I believe, is the way I made mine, which one/way do you want? The one on the reaar end is by far the least expensive, altho not as handy. Which way? Bob!
