Wondering the same thing. To me the only reason somebody would want to test there is if they were thinking about racing there.

Just talked w/Reece. As far as the races that we're scheduled this year, those are gone. This is an entirely different deal, and they are looking at possibilities for next year. Any other info about this should come from the parties involved.

As far as the open test, it is going to be moved to a tentative date of Wednesday July 2nd (evening). It will be open to any open wheel car, wing or non-wing, and Late Models.

This is me just speculating here: They want to do some sort of test on the surface to look at what may need to be done for future racing there. They would like big tire cars (the type that can wear a surface out fairly quick) to see what they have, or don't have, to work with. I mention that part so if your a street stock or modified racer, you'll know why they are looking for a particular type of car, and not feel excluded.

This is an awesome facility, and support would be appreciated in helping to keep it around!!! While short tracks have been closing down, some folks are trying to revive one, and that's a good thing!! Besides, it's not often you can get 1/2 mile to go test on, and not cost you a bunch of $$$$!!! :thumb

This facility is awesome, it's a shame it has not been raced on in so long. But I'm glad that they are looking into trying it again and if Reece has anything to do with track prep it can only be a winner!! :thumb:thumb

Update:
The date has been pushed back!
The new date will be Thursday July 24th!!
It will be in the evening (watch for exact times as the date gets closer), and it will be free of charge!! Just sign the waiver to get in (Insurance will be provided through K & K)
The main grandstand will not be open. Thanks!

The date for testing is July 24th. Time will be late afternoon approx. 4:00pm (central time). I will post the exact time when they let me know for sure. If you have any other questions feel free to call Reece (815)693-0081.
