R1 Engine question
 

Hi Guys... just wondering what "real" horsepower I should expect to get from my 06 R1, it's on Alky with Guhl injection. power commander 3 and ignition box.... does anyone know if a 8 injector setup can be done on this model. any advice or info really appreciated... cheers Steve

It really depends if the guy running the dyno has just sold you something or if he is trying to sell you something new.Like a can of snake oil.

You dont need 8 injectors on that motor. It is a strong engine with lots of torque.

I have a corrective dyno sheet for a 06 R-1 gas 173hp on ally 177hp from the guy I used for dyno work.

mine was just dynoed at hyper on alky and made 178 completely stock

thats interesting guys, my last one was 166 , and the one i have now just dyno'd at almost identical hp ... interesting facts are.... the first one was stock bog standard... standard airbox. std injectors we just drilled out. for the alky. homemade headers and powercommander 5...... the second engine stock engine . guhl injestion / airbox/ pc 3/ ign box/ viper headers . so based on the these facts absolutely no gain at all with supposebly better items , makes one think...

Too many varibles to compare different engines on different dynos on different days..............

The best numbers we have seen have been with Engler injection... Hp is comparable but torque is 1.5 x more..

some good feedback. thanks... now another question... Im told the 07 08 engine will produce more hp.. but is this the case?? it's the same size. same stoke and same bore.. so if it does why..
