USAC sanctioning 600 minisprints @ Plymouth 2013

Kevin Miller, President & CEO of USAC, and Ed Kennedy, owner of Plymouth Speedway are very excited to announce a new partnership for the 2013 racing season. 600 winged and nonwing minisprints will be racing under the USAC banner. "USAC is very proud to work out this arrangement with Mr. Kennedy and build a strong foundation of 600 minisprint racing with USAC sanctioning at Plymouth Speedway," Kevin Miller states. __________________________________________________ ____ A title sponsor will be announced at a later date, but USAC will be providing a points fund for unrestricted 600 nonwing and wing minsprints as well as the restricted 600 wing minisprints. Please keep an eye out for further announcements and information as we move toward the 2013 racing season!

UNBELIEVEABLE!!!! I take it that Mr. Kennedy has not researched Mr. Miller and USAC very well.

It's pretty sad when USAC gets hammered for sanctioning 600's. Their reputation has certainly been tarnished the past year. Oh how the mighty have fallen.

Let's make this more easy to digest for some of you. Ed Kennedy isn't dumb. The track mgt at Plymouth isn't dumb. The relationship the track will have with USAC is a partnership. Plymouth decides the rules, Plymouth tech the cars, Plymouth mgt runs the track, Plymouth makes the decisions, USAC provides the license and insurance, USAC provides a very generous points fund, and USAC can acknowledge and promote the drivers and classes.
This isn't any more than Ed Kennedy wanting to give 600 minisprint drivers and crews some acknowledgement and press in the state and potentially nationwide.

Whatever negative things that have happened with USAC this past year isn't a concern for us as we turn the page going into 2013. We are confident this will be a great opportunity for the 600 class as well as Plymouth Speedway as we establish ourselves as THE dirt track for Northern IN.

I can't imagine if one of the presidential candidates subscribed to that logic. Never mind what's happened in the last term, pick me for this one because I'm telling you what you want to hear now. I hope this works out for the best but it's clearly a risky proposition.

Sounds like something very similiar to what UMP does for the modifieds.

Good Idea!

Seriously? This is racing not the future of our country. There is no comparison here. This is racing . . . it's a hobby . . . it's fun.

We are committed to our 600 mini drivers!

Good luck in 2013. Hope it all works out well and maybe we can get up to see a show or two.
