New guy here...

A little introduction. Race fan all of my life. Started going when I was about 6 weeks old. Dad drove a sprint car hence the early start. Been to all the tracks throughout Indiana. Love Eldora (who doesn't) follow the late models and the IRL. Burned out on NASCAR (not quite what it was). Attend Bloomington quite a bit, raced there for a little while (divorce did me in, what else).

Just found this forum today, someone linked to it at "The Star" open wheel forum concerning the "American Dream Nightmare" thread. Know Kevin Briscoe and his Dad quite well. It was nice to see his picture at the top. Currently following Brady Short in his rise to the top.

His name is Larry Miller. He drove sprints all over the Midwest from the late '50s to 1977. He was Karl Kinsers first driver, drove for him from about 1965-71 they won a lot of races together. My Dad raced against Chuck Amati,Dick Gaines,Bob Kinser, Sammy Swindell (when he was a 19yo hot shoe and showed up at Tri-state speedway) Steve Kinser (when he was very much a rookie at Paragon) many others. You would probably have to be 50-60yo to really remember these days. Back then no green race cars, no women or children in the pits and no #13 cars. Many moons and memories ago

Your dad could drive the hell out of a sprint car. I was rooting for the yellow #22 (if my memory serves me correctly) at Paragon, each week, as a kid. Wasn't he from Oolitic?

Welcome to Indiana Open Wheel.

Welcome to Indiana Open Wheel.

Oolitics the place, he and Mom still live there. He's slowed down a lot (71 yoa) The last of the big block chevy sprint cars. I was told that Keith Ford (who owned Paragon) still has that car. I tried to buy it once from him about 15 years ago but since Karl Kinser built that chassis he wanted quite a bit for it. Got some great pictures of it, may try to load some of them up at a later date.

I was too young to remember the F800 car, got some pictures though.

Thanks for the compliments about my Dad, I will pass them on to him.
