Gotta love the old days. Wish I had attended in 1978-1980.
Imagine what great racing we would have w/o wings(Corn Picker's)
today.

We were there in 78 then again in the 80's and 90's had a good time the entire time we were there. Things have changed a little since then.

Great photos that bring back memories when Knoxville was truly a happening. Saw my first one in 1970 and last one in 1984. Quit going when they went wings, smoothed the rough edges off of everything. Made it a "professional" event which meant sanitizing things to the point where it lost much of its appeal. Think there is a lesson here before going and off wanting to make our side of the sport something similar. All change is not necessarily positive progress.
