Jimmy Kite To Make MSR Debut At Salem
Indianapolis 500 veteran Jimmy Kite of Stockbridge, Ga., is scheduled to return to Salem Speedway for the first time in over 20 years on Saturday, August 11th, as he and car owner Mike Blake have teamed up for the upcoming Joe James/Pat O’Connor Memorial sprint classic. The 5-time Indy 500 starter, who last raced at Salem in 1997, is scheduled to compete in 3 TRUFUEL Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Series events, beginning with the James/O’Connor Memorial. “Its always fun to go back to tracks where you’ve run well and even better when you’ve won at them like at Salem,” said Kite. The 1997 USAC Silver Crown Rookie of the Year is also scheduled to race at Anderson and Winchester later this season.

This is one race I'm really looking forward to; it was very entertaining last year and the series has grown, so it should be even better this year.

I'm not good at math but if he was at Salem in 1997, that's 14 years ago, not 20 years ago. |
Re: Jimmy Kite To Make MSR Debut At Salem
We stand corrected, Jimmy Kite will be making his first visit to Salem in 15 years.
