A question for the experts....

Here is a question for you racefans.....

Should the teams going to PA get cash in hand every night after the races or should they wait until checks come out like everybody else?

If the standard arrangement has always been check for racing later in the week, then I say follow status quo, but tow money should be paid every night or upfront.

If you put fuel on the card and the check comes to late to cover the difference, then you pay interest on the card negating the tow money.

Cash money in hand after every race. In years past with the original CRA we were normally paid by check but when we would run our midwestern tour we got paid in cash after every race and more than once we paid for our entire trip with money we made from the races without ever having to put anything on the credit card.Yes, tow money helps but it isn't enough to help cover those unexpected expenditures,at least when you get paid every night you have money in your pocket to help cover the unknown costs.Granted if your doing really well it's also kind of scary to be carrying around large sums of cash.

Josh and I are depending on selling a few tee shirts so we can eat. I could afford to miss a couple meals but Josh needs food a couple times a day.

Yep, once a week. To me, that's the way to go.

Slash,
Give the teams something, I mean you have a bad night or two and your out some money, but then again you gotta pay to play, some form of currency would be nice though.

As a fan I would say stick with your printed procedure.

As a participant, as important as it was to have money to get to the next race, it is even more important to make sure I have enough money to get back home. My thought would be it could possibly lure a few (or more) of the "fringe" teams to make the trek if they new after each night they would be getting tow money/purse money to get back home or to the next race on.

Curious as to why this was asked of the "fans" vs the "participants" ?

Just my $0.96078 worth

Obviously you haven't been paying attention to our recent economy woes. If you had you would of noticied that borrowing money is not exactly on most American's "What not to do" list. The reason were all mad at our housing values going down is because we have less money we can borrow against the value of our houses.

Borrowing against the value of our homes is what has financed most of the small start up companies and leisure activities in this country for the last 10-15 years. The availability of easy credit has allowed us to live at incrediably high standards for more years than that.

A rear end doesn't cost $1,500, it costs about $75 a month spread out over a few years with a varying interest rate.

I do have to ask this, can we really trust racers with a large "knot" of "Bengie's" in their pockets to really spend the money on fuel and parts?

I will say this Aussiemidgetfan: It was sure alot more fun in this country when your opinion was only worth about $0.58078. That's alright though; it was a hell of a ride while it lasted. Who knows, maybe we can commence to battering the worlds monetary values again sometime in the next decade or two.

Cash Money Upon Completion of the Day's Event.
USAC wants to generate the concept and procedure of "Big Events"? Well, Big Events necessitate the guaranteed lure of the traveling teams. Nothing travels as convincingly as currency, doled out to those who are spending probably $300.00 in fuel (Absolute Minimum!) to make it to a track that it took about $40.00 for the local teams to get to.
This is a No-Brainer. It establishes goodwill above and beyond the norm, and gets every team looking ahead in anticipation to a road trip of this sort, where otherwise the dread of knowing that some Williams Grove bottom feeder who throws off his wing to experiment at a Wingless Event could spear a Series regular, and cost him more money than he could otherwise hope to make back.
Cash Money Before Leaving the Track....
