Thursday Night Sprints at LPS Rained Out.
Since I just posted, another shower hit and the track is gone.
Sorry. We tried. Thanks to all who showed up. Let's do this next week!:13: |
Re: LPS is Rained Out.
You did your best to make it happen. $200 each to the drivers for gas money for hauling out there was a classy move!

How many cars?

Re: LPS is Rained Out.
I saw Ashley running through the pits paying the tow money before the haulers left so yes it was real and a real Classy Deal by Joe Spiker !!

Re: LPS is Rained Out.
I think of this every time I think I could promote or operate a track better. Used to be Promoters would say, Sorry bout your luck or cut a purse.
Today, Don't treat em right, You won't have racers! Chuck |
Re: LPS is Rained Out.
I removed the "LPS is a go" thread.
Joe really wants to try hard to get every race in. He knows when the weather is like it was today that car counts along with fan counts will be lower than on nice weather days but he pushes forward hoping a few folks will still be able to enjoy the race. I personally like that mentality... Don't give up until you're forced too. The track did pay every team $200 that was already there. He wanted to show his appreciation to the teams that showed up and took the chance. 10 teams... $2,000 on a night where the track didn't earn a dime. Hopefully next Thursday will be a better day! |
Re: LPS is Rained Out.
Just wanted to thank Joe and the group at LPS for trying to get the show in and especially for the tow money when it really wasn't expected by any of us.

I think Spiker and his crew are doing awesome things and trying very hard to make improvements but when there is a 100% chance of rain between 6 and 9 and it's raining on the track, why not just go ahead and pull the plug? I respect them trying to get the race in but they kept a lot of people hanging when there was really no way that race was going to happen. Kudos to them for giving the teams $200, and I look forward to attending next Thursday. Just wish they would cancel a lil earlier when the weather looks that grim.
