Smoke At Plymouth

Just caught word that Tony Stewart will be at Plymouth Speedway today, looking over the dirt track with his friends Irish and Eric Saunders. He is running there in the SOD race there June the 16th, along with the winged 600's and Hornets. He is doing a fund raiser meet and greet tonight from 7-9 for Newton Park for the Little Hoosier 100. USAC .25 race Aug 11-12. Also can't wait for the combo race Plymouth palooza July 6 & 7 asphalt / dirt USAC National Midget show. Sounds like there will be plenty of camping and a big party with a band after the races Friday night. And alot of things to do on Saturday during the day like a Dunk Tank, National Guard Boot camp challenge, and alot more this should be a great event..:8:

Just out of curiosity I would love to know what he thought about the small dirt track at Plymouth. Th ASCS SOD 360 winged sprint car race aught to be a good one. Starting 18 - 20 cars on that track should be insane for the fans, crews, & officials to watch.

Patience will be a virtue, otherwise there won't be anyone left at the end.

Heard from a reliable source that they are only starting 16 due to the size.

I'm betting this is a one year deal with the small track. Not because of failure, but because it will be successful enough they'll make the big track dirt next season.

Did you ever think that maybe racing at a dirt track is one of the places he can go to escape all of that? There's probably some downside to being famous, also.

If you go to races to get autographs, you're going for the wrong reason. He does appearances during the Brickyard, go to one of those.

Sorry, never have, never will, subscribe to the theory that guys are there to sign autographs. I think some people think drivers are supposed to chum around with everybody all night and worry about racing second.

Slow down there bud, I understand you are busy through the night and Tony has become so famous now, but I have never told a fan, especially a kid, that I don't have time to sign their autograph! The fans are the reason that we even have a place to race! I have always been a fan of Tony since the days in Roy Barker's T.Q. Midget, but not a fan of how grouchy he gets towards the fans at times. I had a good conversation with Nelson at The Burg and I believe he feels the same way.
Thanks,
J.T.
