Gas City or Hossier Hundred????
Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are. Im coming down from Wisconsin and don't get to see non-winged sprints that often so I was kinf od leaning towards Gas City. Checked results from a couple weeks ago and only had enough cars to do 3 heats. Then on the other hand, there is the Hoosier Hundred which I went to last year. What is everyone's opinions on what I should check out? I won't be disappointed at either venue, but I'm having a real hard time making up my mind....

Re: Gas City or Hossier Hundred????
I agree! 100% Hoosier hundred.
You can fo see a sprint car race in Wisconsin! |
I don't get to see sprint cars to often either. I've also been to the Hoosier Hundred and Gas City.
Some points to consider are do you care who you see racing at Gas City, since a lot of those guys may be racing the mile. Did you think the mile was a train race last year? (I wasn't there, not saying it was.) Did you spend the night in the grandstands or out in the infield, do the opposite if you go this year. If you go to the mile, you could definitely hit the Indy lights race earlier in the day if that interests you. In fact you may be able to hit IMS and gas city in the same day. I know a lot of people get race drunk and make it seem like the mile and crown cars are like a magical fairytale. Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Gas City or Hossier Hundred????
Not sure either will be great racing, but I vote for the Hoosier 100. If you like memorabilia, the National Auto Racing Memorabilia Show (www.narmshow.com) is close to the track on Thursday evening, Friday and Saturday. (Disclaimer-I have nothing to do with the show, I just enjoy going there every year.) They have some Indy veterans, many of whom also drove midgets, sprints and dirt champs back in the day, available for autographs every year for what I think are very reasonable fees.

Re: Gas City or Hossier Hundred????
Hoosier Hundred if at all possible. We need to put butts in the seats to show USAC & Bob Sargent that we indeed want to keep this form of racing alive. We can go to Gas City next Friday night.

Gas city!! Been to the 100 the past 2 years. Not enough passing for me. Best part is seeing who will and won't change tires. Cost to much to get in. Better bang for your buck at I69 With double the action. If your here for the 500 head to kokomo Sunday night..

The Hoosier 100! And it doesn't cost but 10 or 15 bucks to do the infield. No 50 lap break this year. A great race not to be missed.
