Martinsville Fair Date Added to Schedule

The Midwest TQ Racing League would like to announce an addition to its 2012 race schedule. MTQRL Director of Racing Operations Greg Staab has confirmed that three-quarter midget racing will return to the Morgan County Fair in Martinsville, Ind. on Tuesday evening July 31st.

Three-quarter midgets used to race annually at the Morgan County Fairgrounds but have been absent for almost seventeen years. In fact it has been so long ago that only three active MTQRL drivers (Kevin Blue, Ronnie Combs and Bruce Leisure) have ever competed on the Morgan County oval.

Leisure finished seventh at the last TQ race held on August 1, 1995, and Combs won the feature in 1989. MTQRL car owner champion Roger Ramsey has competed at Martinsville as a driver and scored a pair of feature wins in 1974 and 1984.

With the addition of the Martinsville race to the schedule there are now 18 confirmed dates at eight different venues. Three TBA’s and four Rain Dates still remain with the possibility of more races to be added in the future.

weekday races are not to great, i guess we will find out how it works makes it rough for guys trying to make a living and race on the side you loose alot of money on weekday races, taking off work early adds to the expenses.

Back in the day U.M.R.A. had several mid-week fair races, but that's when fuel was alot cheaper too!

I love the weekday shows as we can go to those races and still run the micro, and sprint car on the weekends.

Back in the early 70's TQ's ran 12 out of 14 nights during the fair schedule. I had a full time job and never took off early, one night we ran in east OHIO and the next night in wetern IN. But back the we did not have a forum , Hell we did not have time!:deadhorse::deadhorse:

If you want to race then race. If you don't want to then don't.
