Non Wing "set ups"

Hey Folks,
My names Garrett Park and moved to the Lima area from Colorado. I had mostly just ran winged 305s but am really interested in running wingless 410's. But i have no idea on the basis of them. I now see multiple ways to set the chassis up, standard 4 torsion, front coils and 5 bar. I have no idea what 5 bar is and what are the advantages of one versus the other, as well as the conversions I woiuld need to make to run wingless. THanks

Go to the races at Waynesfield & look for Jack Hewitt ask a few questions don't be a jerk. He's helped a few friends of mine, also Beaber who fixes chassis might be good source. Not sure where he is in OH somewhere between Toledo & Fremont. As a last resort get a Facebook page & ask the NW guys on there. Most are pretty helpful:27:

Garrett,

Beaberbuilt Chassis is located in Gibsonburg Ohio. Here is a link to their website: http://www.beaberbuiltracing.com/ Tony and Johnny Beaber have a wealth of experience that is 2nd to none.

Jack Hewitt typically winters in Florida, and may already be down there. When he gets back in the spring, he would be one that you definitely want to talk to.

There are lots of guys in the Lima area who may be able to get you started in the right direction for 2012. Stop by Lee's Hydraulics and speak with Kyle Conaway.

Also you might want to check out the Rumble Series indoor midget races at the Ft Wayne Coliseum in December. Several local Non Wing drivers compete that weekend as well as head over to spectate. you never know who you might end up getting to talk to over there.

Like Bad Dad said, facebook is a great tool for networking with other racers. Lots of guys like Landon Simon, Justin Grant, Cody Hewitt, Tony Beaber are on there quite a bit, and I do see several of the national talents on there as well. Don't be afraid to ask some questions. Most guys would rather see you learning than see you out of control on the track, jeopardizing yourself and them.

Also, the Waynesfield Raceway Park Points Banquet will be taking place on Saturday Nov 5th in Wapak Ohio at the Grand Plaza Banquet Hall. The top 10 drivers from WRP will be in attendance with some of their crews and car owners. With a social hour and time during the dinner, you might be able to get some phone numbers and make some local contacts to help you out as well. If you need anymore info about WRP, visit our website at www.waynesfieldracewaypark.com or email me at waynesfieldracewaypark@gmail.com

I think you'll find there are some valuable resources with quite a bit of knowledge to assist you in our area. Hope to see you at the 'Field in 2012!

Gerry
