terre haute questions?
1. where did they get the trophy girl form? Asuming that was a paid apperance, not the best spent money.
2. was it really that good of a race, last day show i was at there was miserable. No, I wasen't a spectator, nothin worse than sweaten yer ass off and chokin on dust!!! 3. are all the races an unload and pit in the infeild ordeal? I understand the theory behind their thinking, but coming from somebody who has done it many times there and else where it really sucks. get there two or three hours earlier than need be and spend two or three hours longer than need be to pack all yer junk back in the trailer. if this is for all races just dont see it lasting, look for car counts to suffer. not lookin to piss anybody off just my opinion. |
Re: terre haute questions?
1. I don't know
2. For being my first race, I loved it. Dust wasn't bad until the feature, I don't know what is acceptable amount of dust is, but it was a little dusty durign the feature. Temp. wise, it was perfect. 3. I am almost positive that is how it is going to be from now on. I did see haulers on the track after the race. I doubt car count will suffer, there were 42 cars there on a rain postponed day with another race in another town and on a Sunday. Racers from 8 states, also. |

Re: terre haute questions?
Just a couple of comments on question #2. Chase Stockton won the 12 lap "B" from 13th starting position. He started the "A" in 21st and finished in 9th. Robert Ballou started the "A" in 12th and won it. In his heat, Ballou gave us a preview by starting 9th, making a really hard move into the first turn, bicycled, bounced up and down a bit, lost ground and then charged to 3rd. After the last yellow, the show that Ballou and Jesse Hockett were worth the price of admission, IMHO. In another thread someone reported that Ballou led the last 5 laps, but that was just at the start/finish line. He started by making a banzai slider on Hockett in turn 1 just after the green came out. For the next three laps they traded the lead in almost every corner. I am not sure how many times the lead actually changed those three laps, but it had to be at least 8-9. Perhaps someone was keeping track. There were other good drives, like Damian Gardner from 8th to 2nd in his heat and others.
So, yes, it was an excellent race and I say that even though I hate dust. I thought it was really that good. Frank Daigh |

I didn't really notice the trophy girl because of the girl in the short skimpy black dress in the background of the pic. now, she was hot!:O: |

Re: terre haute questions?
The dust was just as bad if not worse in the heats then the feature. I was told from the grandstands that you could not hardly see a car up till the red flag in the feature. And anyone that was listening when they talked to clayton after he was involved in the crash, he didn't have anything good to say about the dust or anything of that sort. That was the only problem other than that all was good. Unloading took a while having to shuttle accross track. but was not to bad.

Now I will go back to merely lurking, 'cause I don't want those rough Indy folks who beat up on 63-year-old men and 74-year-old-women to come looking for my a$$. |
