Macon-Springfield Mile-Lincoln

When making plans for this weekend don't forget there's plenty of good short track support surrounding the Silver Crown race at Springfield this year. Powri midgets will be in action at Macon Friday night as usual but also Saturday night at Lincoln, just 20 minutes up the road, after the mile race. This brings back good memories of Little Springfield after the mile. This should be a great combination of wild bullring action and prestigious mile track racing. By the way, there's a great steakhouse in Lincoln just off the exit.

If that isn't enough, the MOWA/IRA winged 410 sprint car race at LaSalle Speedway has been rescheduled for Sunday, August 21. That is about 125 miles north of Springfield. If you haven't been to LaSalle, you might want to check it out.

And in case you are coming from the West, we have a MOWA show in Jacksonville on Friday night.

We're gettin' ready to pull out soon. We're gonna' camp on the Fairgrounds and spend some time out on Lake Springfield Thursday and Friday. Gonna' go over to Mighty Macon on Friday night and maybe Lincoln on Saturday night along with the Bettenhausen and Crowe 100's on The Mile Saturday and Sunday. We look forward to this week all year.

Just had a question about the Poweri show at Lincoln. What time are hot laps and what support classes will be in action?

Gonna' keep our fingers crossed for good weather all weekend. Hope the crowd support is good so this type of racing keeps being a part of the State Fair and the Silver Crown schedule. Come on out if you can, it's a great place to watch a race and with the Fair going on it's a nice outing.

According to the Lincoln Speedway website, grandstands open at 5:00 PM. Hot Laps at 6:00 PM and Racing at 7:00 PM. Pits $30 and Grandstands $15 for adults with 12 & under free with a paying adult.

Powr I plus mini sprints, modifieds and street stocks. I hope this helps.
