Nashville Superspeedway... explores sale

I remember they tested a couple of Silver Crown cars down there... too fast for safety. :7:

Here's your chance, buy this facillity, and see how good you are at running a racing business, show them podunk guys how it's done! Bob!:5:

Bad news for Nashville but;

That opening in the schedule should allow IRP to have a race next year on a new date.

There was talk of IndyCar going back there if they had trouble getting more ovals in ’12. Guess you can cross that track off the list going forward.

I think maybe Dover needs to get out of the business. They had Memphis and Gateway and folded both of those too. It’s funny you always hear, “we can’t compete without a Cup date”. Unless I’m missing something, there are a lot of fans dressed as empty seats any more at those events. So it’s not like those are guaranteed gold minds anymore. Look where the Brickyard is less than 20 years later. They closed a bunch of seating and the place still looked less than half full. I hate that everthing seems to hinge on what Nascar does. Too bad because that facility has a lot of pieces to it and more that could be built in.

That sounds good in theory but do you really think that two Nationwide races in Indianapolis will fly? The stand alone event in my opinion won't draw the crowd that has been associated with the Brickyard 400. I also don't see a huge increase in the amount of tickets sold for the Nationwide race at IMS.:19: So two losers?:7: It will be interesting to see how this all shakes out.
