Coleman Gulick, Casey Shuman and Brett Burdet

These 3 young men made at least two new fans at Gas City on Friday night, namely my grandsons. Both were encouraged to hop in and sit in a sprint car. Neither was in a hurry to get out. Both, along with their dad and grandfather (me), appreciated the hospitality Coleman, Casey and Brett showed.

I should also thank the folks at Gas City who allow fans who show up early enough to roam the pits, meet the racers and check out the cars. I'm thinking that as long as those two kids live up there they will be Gas City fans, especially as long as Jiggs and crew are in charge.

Look at the time. Only 17 more hours until racing begins again on an Indiana Saturday night.

Thats very cool, thanks for sharing. My Dad got me hooked 50 years ago taking me to the Oahe speedway in Pierre SD for supermodifieds and stocks with the occaisional trip to Blackhills Speedway in Rapid City and of course the races at the state fair in Huron. Need more young kids to be involved to keep this sport going.
