CJ Leary Wins at Twin Cities
By Alex Wollf CJ Leary picked up the first feature win of his UMRA career in Saturday night’s lid lifter at Twin Cities Raceway Park in North Vernon. The Greenfield, Indiana pilot took the lead in the early stages of the 20-lap feature and was never challenged the rest of the way as he collected the checkered flag and the $50 Leary Construction “Winners Bonus.” Patrick Wolf overcame a scary moment in his heat race when a wheel fell off and sent him spinning to come home second in the feature with Trent Henderson third, Ron Combs fourth, and Terry Goff rounding out the top five. The eight-lap heat races were won by CJ Leary and Jason Goff. The first $50 from the Tony Stewart “Smoke The Field” Challenge went to Patrick Wolf won came from 13th to 2nd in the feature and is now eligible for the cash prize at season’s end. Kevin Blue had a tough night fighting mechanical gremlins and as a result received the $50 for the Green-Tech Lubricants “Hard Luck” Award.
