2011 Illinois Sprint Week???
 

Has anyone heard whether there will be an Illinois Sprint Week this year? I saw a number of Illinois license plates at Ocala, so I know there are fans out there. There was a good crowd at Danville and, of course, Tri-City last year. With some good promotion, I believe that it could be a success.

Haven't heard anything...Tri-City was one of the best races I saw last year. And Lasalle is a great track. Hope someone steps up.Has anyone gotten their point money from last year?

I've been wondering the same thing. I did all that didnt get rained out last yr. Lasalle was cool,like to go back there again. Really wanted to see em at Farmer City.

The good news is that Tri City Speedway's Gold Crown Midget Nationals will have
410 non wing sprints all three nights. The bad news is that those three nights are the
ONLY Illinois non wing sprint racing that we have been able to find.

I already have the Gold Crown penciled in for a drive over after work on Thursday,then call in Sick Friday...........

Does anyone think the new owner at Peoria might give a non-wing show a shot? POWRI has a race scheduled there in June.

Maybe if we all bombard the new Peoria owner with requests for REAL sprints he will schedule a MSCS race.

I think that's a great idea, but I doubt they would travel that far. I'd love to see them at Tri-City, also.

Korey Weyant driving Jim Mahams number 7 won the sprint week points and have not seen any point money From the promoter DON HAMMER. But he got there entry fee at each event.

I think if anyone expects IL sprint week to take off they need to have a legitimate series sanction the races, and I really don't know who would do it. I think IL has a better shot of having Powri do an IL midget week and have sprints along with them.
