Turkey Night Practice

Just heard that a couple of the teams got to practice yesterday (Monday) I thought there was a 4 day no practice rule for National Events??

And If USAC has anything to do with it, I wouldn't be suprised if they locked in the top 4 for Turkey Night....:8:

Matters who you are, weather the rules apply to you or not. It's like getting a flat tire in a USAC feature, not everyonr gets an extended yellow to change it.

I would like to hear confirmation on the rule, and if teams were definitely practicing Monday, and if so what teams? Interesting...who enforces this rule if it exists, and what is the penalty?

From the rule book (which you can see on the USAC website):
-----------
Testing
As per the sanction agreement with the USAC Race Organizer, practice and/or testing during the three calendar days prior to
a racing event is not permitted. The term “racing event” means all official USAC sanctioned functions at the track in
conjunction with this race, beginning with the first day of USAC sanctioned practice. Teams who engage in such unauthorized
practice or test runs will be subject to disciplinary action by USAC.
Exceptions: USAC scheduled and sanctioned practices.
-----------

The Turkey Night entry form lists sanctioned practice on Wednesday, then racing events on Thursday. It appears a Sunday through Tuesday practice session would fall into this window.

Not sure what you mean by conspiracy, that confused me, but with the rule the way that it is written, renting the track for a practice on Monday would be against the rule book. It sounds like Monday wasn't a USAC practice for everyone, and it does fall within the three day period. It is a rule, it needs to be followed, and in my opinion it is an important rule. This is one of the rules that would determine the decision of certain teams participating against the "mega teams".

I guess we will see how this plays out, but I sure do hope that they stream the races tonight, it would put a great end to the day!
Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Racing!
