That's a lot of money...

How much do Crew Chiefs make in NASCAR Country?

some of the top teams are well over 400grand with additional bonus's for things like making the chase. finishing in the top thirty five in points, number of wins, top tens, fives ect.

Looked that up awhile back but a hundred g is a serious fine considering they fine drivers ten -25 grand for most of their fines.

Re: Frankie Kerr fined $100,000

If the car is illegal during quals or the race then they should be fined but is it obvious that some teams do not care about the fines or the suspensions and the only thing that is going to stop them is to park the car and the driver for a race or two and if the infraction was found in post race inspection then all points and monies for that race should be forfeited

I wonder if RG's smart a@@ attitude had anything to do with the severity of the fine?

If your job is to build racecars, and you do it at this level, you should undestand the rules, know what parts your putting on your car, ect... I don't buy into the " we didn't know BS".

The way to stop this stuff is to park the car and driver if they are found to be illegal at any point before the race. If they are found to be illegal after the race, park the car and driver for the next race. Teams are more than willing to pay fines to get a competitive edge. Crew chiefs are a dime a dozen...they are all replaceable.

Robby received the cars from Evernham Motorsports, they had just switched from Ford to Dodge. His team did not even build the car in question. When the car was built they accidently put a not yet released bumper cover on the car. Its seems to me that the fine and penalty are in line with what teams were penalized last year with the COT.

I think you guys are all nuts...lol!

In the past, last year when Hendrix bucked the the violations to the top
brass his fines were reduced.

I think something like this also happened in the "Nationwide/Bush"
series, where a violation was made and it went to a higher court..i.e
the top Technical Director In Nascar and the fines were reduced or eliminated...deemed not detrimental to the sport of Nascar Racing
or it's organizing bodies.

I think the "first round" of inspectors have to be really tough because
it is there job to inforce the rules, but if you are willing to fight it,
like in a Judicial Court, the fines are usually reduced when you go the higher manager....i.e the guy in charge/top man. Always go to the guy on top if you want to settle a problem or dispute and argue sensibly.

The Top Guy in the Nascar Technical/Rules/Fines Organizataion will reduce the charge if you have the "Balls" to buck it up the system
and argue your point like a man.

"The sticky wheel usually get's the grease" if you have leg to stand on...LOL!:applaud:

I am pretty sure that this will get appealed.

I don't think it's the money that is the problem.
Going in to Cali (without the penalty) - 8th
(with the penalty) - 40th

That's huge. Ask MW.

I just don't think the crime fits the punishment. They had 3 days once they switched everything over. I was also told that the templets for the cars are around $20,000. They had 3 days to get everything from Dodge (GEM) and put it on the truck for Daytona.

Plus I think there shouldn't be a penalty for practice. It was before they even hit the track for practice which last a week long.
These penalties are crazy and stupid. I understand during qualifying or just before but the cars haven't even got on the track yet. It still should be case by case basis.
